Projects and Classes
GIS Intern at Eau Claire County
In the summer of 2021, I was the GIS intern at the Eau Claire County office. This internship had many objectives, but the main one was updating the maps of the county parks and natural areas. This involved updating old data, as well as creating new data. All of these maps were then rolled into one ArcStoryMap, available below!
Cartographic Design Course
I took Cartographic Design in the fall semester of the 2021-2022 school year. This class really helped hone and codify many of the cartographic design skills that I had learned through my various geography courses. The below button will show a portfolio of all of the maps I made during this class!
Remote Sensing Data Analysis
GIS 3 Course
This course was not only focused on further refining our GIS skills, but also working on professional development and synthesizing existing GIS skills. Something that sets this course apart is the development of scripting and automation skills in GIS. Examples of the projects completed in this course can be seen by clicking below!
This remote sensing class was one of my favorite classes I've taken. We used a variety of different tools across different software to do anything from calculating the above ground biomass of an area, to object-based image classification. The button below will lead to a blog detailing all of the labs that I did through out this class!
Web GIS Course
The main outcome of this web GIS course was the project that is linked below. this is a Volunteered Geographic Information app which allows the citizens of Eau Claire, Wisconsin to report damage that has occurred after a storm. This was completed using the ArcGIS JavaScript API, as well as HTML and CSS.
GIS 2 Course
GIS 2 was a culmination of all of my prior geospatial knowledge. I took this class in the fall semester of 2019-2020 school year. The final project in this class was one of each students own choosing, and I chose to do a analysis of property value in relation to the center of school districts in the Eau Claire area. The project can be seen by clicking below!
